| Each Family Practice physician goes through a three | ||
| year residency program after graduation from medical school. | ||
| During these three years the Family Medicine resident | ||
| learns how to treat OB/GYN patients, Surgery patients, | ||
| children and adults. | ||
| Many are board certified by the American Board | ||
| of Family Practice. | ||
| Each board certified Family Practitioner has to participate | ||
| in 150 hours of Continuing Medical Education credit | ||
| every three years and take a board recertification | ||
| test every six years in order to stay current | ||
| with the many new advances in medical care. | ||
