Dr. Prestigiacomo's medical practice, located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, provides family medicine services to patients ranging in age from early childhood to the golden years. He attended medical school at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana graduating in 1983. He completed his three years of postgraduate residency training in Family Medicine at both Charity Hospital (now called Medical Center of Louisiana) and Hotel Dieu Hospital (now called University Hospital) in New Orleans as part of the LSU Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program. He is licensed to practice medicine in the State of Louisiana and is Board Certified in Family Practice by the American Board of Family Practice.

Dr. Prestigiacomo has been involved in the practice of medicine for the past seventeen years and has been in solo practice for the past fifteen years. He has hospital admitting privileges at Summit Hospital, Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Woman's Hospital and the two General Health System facilities: Baton Rouge General Medical Center - Mid-City and Baton Rouge General Medical Center - Bluebonnet.
In January 2000, Dr. Prestigiacomo, along with eight other "working" students, became members of the first James C. & Cherie H. Flores LSU / Our Lady of the Lake Executive MBA class. On December 22, 2002, Dr. Prestigiacomo, along with members of his class, were awarded their Masters of Business Administration degrees at commencement ceremonies held at the Louisiana State University Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

In his "spare time" Dr. Prestigiacomo is a performing member of the Baton Rouge Concert Band and theBaton Rouge Jazz Ensemble. Both are non-profit music organizations composed of volunteer amateur musicians. The Baton Rouge Concert Band has several concerts each year including a Spring Concert in March and a Christmas Concert in December. Its repertoire includes marches, show tunes and symphonic pieces. The Baton Rouge Jazz Ensemble plays Big Band Jazz and performs at local festivals and charity functions.
