| Each Urologic Surgeon completes two years of General Surgery | ||
| training after graduation from medical school. | ||
| Then he/she completes a four year urologic surgery residency. | ||
| During this time each Urology resident learns how to diagnose | ||
| diseases that affect the male & female urinary tract | ||
| and the male reproductive system in both adults and children. | ||
| Such diseases include congenital malformations, trauma, | ||
| inflamatory problems, tumors, kidney stones, | ||
| cancer of the urinary tract, urinary incontinence, obstruction, | ||
| male infertility and impotence. | ||
| Most Urologists are board certified by the | ||
| American Board of Urology. | ||
| Many are also board certified by the | ||
| American College of Surgeons. | ||
